SCALE OF INTEREST OF THE PROBLEMS OF FOREIGN STUDENTS: VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY

Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin yabancı uyrukluöğrenci sorunlarına ilgilerini belirlemek amacıyla geliştirilen YabancıUyruklu Öğrenci Sorunlarına İlgi Ölçeği’nin geçerlik ve güvenirlikçalışmasını yapmaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 2017-2018 eğitimöğretim yılında Kafkas Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 240’ı kadın, 165’ierkek olmak üzere toplam 405 öğretmen adayından oluşmuştur.Araştırmacılar tarafından yapılan alan yazın taraması ve alınan öğrencigörüşleri sonucunda 33 taslak madde hazırlanmıştır. Uzman görüşleri vepilot uygulama ile 30 maddelik ölçek formu elde edilmiştir. Elde edilenölçek formu öğretmen adaylarına uygulanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarındanelde edilen verilerden geçerliği belirleyebilmek için açımlayıcı faktöranalizi ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Analizler sonucundaölçeğin toplam varyansının %63.78’ini açıklayan “kültürel sorunlara ilgi”,“sosyoekonomik sorunlara ilgi”, “ders dışı sorunlara ilgi” ve “ders içisorunlara ilgi” olarak adlandırılan 4 faktörden oluşan 21 maddelik biryapı oluşturulmuştur. Bu yapının uyumunun iyi düzeyde olduğugörülmüştür (? 2 / sd 2.55, RMSEA 0.06, CFI 0.93, GFI 0.90, NFI0.90). Ölçeğin güvenirliğini belirleyebilmek için hesaplanan Cronbachalfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları ölçeğin geneli için 0.93, birinci faktör için0.89, ikinci faktör için 0.80, üçüncü faktör için 0.87 ve dördüncü faktöriçin 0.86 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırma verilerinden elde edilenbulgular doğrultusunda Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrenci Sorunlarına İlgiÖlçeği’nin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu söylenebilir.
The aim of this research is to perform the validity and reliability ofthe scale of interest of the problems of foreign students developed in orderto determine the interest of university students in terms of problems offoreign students. The study group consisted of a total of 405 teachercandidates including 240 females and 165 males studying at KafkasUniversity in the academic year 2017-2018. As a result of the literaturereview performed by the researchers and the student opinions received,33 draft items were prepared. A scale form of 30 items was obtained withexpert opinions and a pilot practice. The scale form has been applied toteacher candidates. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factoranalysis were performed in order to determine the validity of the dataobtained from teacher candidates. As a result of the analyzes, a 21-itemstructure consisting of 4 factors which described 63.78% of the totalvariance of the scale and named as “interest in cultural issues”, “interestin socioeconomic problems”, “interest in extracurricular problems” and“interest in problems in class”, was formed. The adaptation of thisstructure was found to be at a good level (? 2 / sd 2.55, RMSEA 0.06,CFI 0.93, GFI 0.90, NFI 0.90). The Cronbach alpha internalconsistency coefficients calculated to determine the reliability of the scalewas found 0.93 for the overall scale, 0.89 for the first factor, 0.80 for thesecond factor, 0.87 for the third factor and 0.86 for the fourth factor. Inthe direction of findings from the data of the study, it can be stated thatthe Scale of Interest in the Problems of Foreign Students is a valid andreliable measurement tool.
