Abstract
- Endomyocardial fibrosis (EMF) is a disease of unknown etiology characterized by progressive fibrosis and obliteration of the right ventricular (RV) or left ventricular (LV) cavities and often associated with atrioventricular valve incompetence. Patients with EMF have a poor prognosis. Surgical treatment usually results in clinical and hemodynamic improvement. 1–6 In this study we present pre- and postoperative clinical and noninvasive follow-up in 15 consecutive patients with EMF.
