Department of Chemistry, Department of Botany, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur-302 055, Rajasthan, India E-mail : profrjain@rediffmail.com Manuscript received 18 May 2010, accepted 27 August 2010 Chemical investigation of pet. ether and benzene solubles from the ethanolic extract of the stem barkof Callistemon lanceolatus DC. afforded two novel phenolic acid esters : dotriacontanyl ferulate and 32-hydroxy dotriacontanyl ferulate, triterpenoids : euph-7-en-3β-ol, 3-O-acetyl unolic acid, ursolic acid, uvaol-3-acetate, erythrodiol-3-acetate and asiatic acid along with ß-sitosterol and its glucoside. Tills is the first report of the isolation of phenolic acid esters from this genus.
