Abstract
This note incorporates ecological interactions into the Noahs Arch problem [M.L. Weitzman, The Noahs Arch problem, Econometrica 66(6) (1998) 1279-1298]. In doing so, we arrive at a general model for rank- ing in situ conservation projects accounting for species interrelations and provide an operational cost-e¤ectiveness method for the selection of best preserving diversity projects under a limited budget constraint.
