Digital commons: a comparison between the Commons Assembly of Lille and the SIILAB

Afin d’approfondir la notion de communs numériques, l’article compare deux initiatives inscrites dans cette démarche au sein de la Région Hauts-de-France : l’Assemblée des Communs de Lille et le SIILAB. Le cadre d’analyse s’appuie sur les travaux d’Hess et Ostrom, de Coriat et de Dardot et Laval. Il examine les conditions sociotechniques d’usages et de gestion des communs numériques. L’analyse comparative met en exergue cinq dimensions structurantes d’une démarche de communs numériques (institutionnelle, communautaire, multi-échelle, appropriation, politique) qui formalisent une proposition de grille d’analyse de ces communs. In order to explore the notion of digital commons, this article compare two initiatives in the Hauts-de-France area: Commons Assembly of Lille and the SIILAB. The framework mobilizes the theorical researches of Hess & Ostrom, Coriat and Dardot & Laval. It analyses the digital commons’ socio-technical conditions of use and management. This comparative analysis highlights five majors’ dimensions of digital commons (institutional, community, multiscale, appropriation, politic). These dimensions forms a framework’s proposal to analyse digital commons.
