Abstract

In barely four decades since the measles virus was first isolated in cell cultures, safe and effective live attenuated measles vaccines have been developed and are now in use worldwide [2]. Currently, nearly 80^ of the world's children are immunized against measles and :M.5 million deaths from measles are prevented each year. Yet, neither the vaccine nor the immunization programs are optimal?their limitations continue to allow ~ 1 million infants
