Développement et maîtrise de l'espace en Mitidja

For about ten years, deep socio-economic changes have occured in the Mitidja region, and the population has been completely renewed. Agriculture must face with problems of colonial cultures reconversion ; industry has broken into the plain so that industrial employment exceeds the agricultural one. Such an economic evolution has set serious problems ; the industrial development has been achieved to the detriment of rural occupations, with the reduction of agricultural lands, and the forsaking of the country. The rural habitat has lost its role. It would be more especially difficult to resolve the problems of spatial planning as the growth of Alger City threatens the region and unbalances the space of Mitidja.
