Abstract

Universal access constitutes a major basic criterion for the acceptance of mobile solutions. Manufacturers, application developers, service providers, and other stakeholders are forced to consider this sooner or later. Accessibility issues need to be considered in all aspects of design, both in ensuring the accessibility of mainstream mobile technologies and in utilizing new mobile technologies for accessibility solutions. Basically, all user groups should be considered in the design, and no user group should be excluded. This chapter gives design guidelines for universal access design in mobile solutions.
