- Graphical abstract<br />Highlights • Adults with SM have slower hemodynamic progression and more rapid AS progression. • Changes in LVOT velocities are minimal over time. • Presence of SM with AS poses challenges in determining hemodynamic significance. • In general, surgery should be recommended when AS is severe and symptoms develop.
