Casa, Ciudad, Territorio: Una investigación colectiva sobre las transformaciones del habitar urbano contemporáneo

This paper looks into a series of recently established trans-scalar links between the domestic domain of housing and the collective realms of the urban and the territorial. Working across several scenarios of urban habitation, these links are explored in terms of their contribution to the development of new ‘urban commons.’ The research methodology is formalised as a collective enquiry, grounded on the participation in two open architectural competitions within the academic context of the University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom) between September and December 2020. The findings of this enquiry foregrounded the infrastructural character of contemporary urban life, identifying key transferences between the domestic and the collective – and ultimately mobilising them as propositions for novel forms of urban habitation.
