Abstract: A review is given about the normal kinetics of granulopoiesis and the possible effects of drugs on the normal haematopoiesis. Subsequently some properties of acute leukaemia are described, and finally some remarks are made about management policies of acute leukaemia and the effects of cytostatic drugs on normal and leukaemic haematopoiesis.
