Abstract
- New anionic and cationic maleic surfmers containing a benzyl or p-vinylbenzyl hydrophobic tail were prepared and characterized. The behaviour of benzyl maleate hemiester in the emulsion polymerization process of styrene has been studied in the presence of potassium persulfate as initiator. The effect of surfmer concentration on particle diameter was particularly investigated.
