Abstract

This study examines India’s performance in S&T on several quantitative measures including India’s global publication share, rank and growth rate, its publication share in various subjects in terms of national and global context using 15 years publications data (1996-2010) from the Scopus database. It also determines share of its international collaborative papers at the national level as well as across subjects and analyses the geographical distribution of its research output. In addition, it analyses the highly productive institutions and characteristics of high-cited papers.http://dx.doi.org/10.14429/djlit.31.5.1193
