Numerical Analysis of Magnetic Circuit Containing Permanent Magnet

Abstract

Permanent magnets are now finding increasing application in industrial and consumer devices. Therefore, it is very important to analyze the magnetic field which may decide the specific characteristic of device. In this paper, well known three methods of numerical analysis, in which the equivalent magnetic circuit, scalar potential or vector potential is used, are first introduced. Next, the magnetic flux distribution in the representative magnetic circuit containing permanent magnet is analyzed by using respective methods. From comparison of results, relative merits are presented
