Abstract
- In this study, in order to evaluate the expected extreme wind speed in Japan in con-sideration of Typhoon effect, the "Typhoon factor" was induced into the extreme wind speedexpected from parent distribution characteristic obtained from usual wind-speed measurementat local meteorological observatories in Japan.Furthermore, the evaluation method of failure probability of a long span bridge due tostrong wind was discussed in taking the assumed joint probability density of expected extremewind, wind direction and its incident angle, both aerostatic and aerodynamic response char-acteristics of the bridge into account.
