Abstract

The Nummulites planulatus sands from the Mount Panisel boring, near Mons, in Belgium, has supplied about thirty Ostracodes species of which Echinocythereis reticulatissima, Bythocypris ? trosliensis, Acanthocythereis ? spinosa and Leguminocythereis striatopunctata characterize the upper part of Keen biozone 6. Sedimentation occured in a quiet rather warm shallow sea, as indicated, specially, by the presence of several species of Pterygocythereis and Cytheretta.
