Abstract

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) at the University of Technology Sydney is taking courageous and creative steps in its teaching and learning. FEIT is developing landmark innovations to transform the curriculum to better engage with students and respond to the demands of a rapidly changing future workforce. For example, drawing inspiration from design studios, many programs now contain engineering studios to engage students in authentic and complex problems drawn from professional practice. This chapter reports on the first iteration of ‘Summer Studios’, an innovative subject that involved senior undergraduate students designing and facilitating studios for fellow students.
