The Absent Body

Un famoso psicoanalista experto en sueños, después de una conferencia pública sobre la vida onírica, fue abordado por una pareja de progenitores, los dos hombres, que le interpelaron sobre un sueño recurrente y angustioso de su niña de cuatro años. La niña sueña una y otra vez que está encerrada sola en un garaje, y se despierta de la pesadilla llorando desesperada y llamando a sus padres, que la reconfortan y consuelan.Es sorprendente y conmovedor que el inconsciente de una niñita tan pequeña consiga dar forma y representar una verdad vinculada con sus orígenes, darle su forma propia y peculiar mediante una imagen (la del garage) que remite a una relación de uso, el espacio carente de necesidad, desnudo de los elementos de deseo y de indentificación que marcan la diferencia entre una casa habitada y un garaje, entre espacios de relación y espacios de uso por necesidad.La imagen onírica impacta especialmente porque presenta, de modo evidente, la posibilidad, la probabilidad y, en ciertas condiciones, tal vez la certeza de la ausencia de relación materna en estas formas de gestación, con su reducción de lo materno a una paridera/incubadora.Esto es el cuerpo ausente.Está ausente el cuerpo libidinoso de la relación de un ser humano que llega con la madre gestante y de la madre gestante con ella/él. A su vez, la madre es portadora 139 Ressenyes impregnada por las huellas vivientes de sus relaciones deseantes del ambiente humano al que pertenece. El cuerpo libidinoso de esta relación (recíproca, al menos a partir de un determinado momento de la vida fetal) está hecho de una trama indivisible de haces de agregados de materia viviente “inteligente” en intercambio, y haces de deseo. Está en la gestación el inicio de la relación transformadora entre exigencia, necesidad y corrientes de deseo, entre materia y alma, entre concreto y psíquico. Lo cual da forma a las coordenadas dentro de las cuales se desarrollará después del nacimiento el espacio gestativo de la psique de la criatura en la psique materna. Y es precisamente el deseo, que precede y que se injerta en las vicisitudes de lo vivo, lo que cataliza esta transformación y esta gestación psíquica.
A famous psychoanalyst, an expert in dreams, was approached after a public lecture on the oneiric life by a couple of parents, both of them men, who questioned him about a recurrent and upsetting dream of their four-year old little girl. The little girl dreams over and over again that she is shut up alone in a garage, and she wakes up from the nightmare crying desperately and calling for her parents, who comfort and console her.It is surprising and moving that the unconscious of such a tiny girl manages to give shape to and represent a truth linked to her origins, giving it its own and unique form via an image (that of the garage) that refers to a relationship of usage, a space lacking in need, bare of the elements of desire and identification that mark the difference between a lived-in house and a garage, between spaces of relationship and spaces of usage according to need.The oneiric image has a strong impact especially because it presents, in an evident way, the possibility, the probability and, in certain conditions, perhaps the certainty of the absence of maternal relationship in these forms of gestation, with their reduction of the maternal to a birthmachine/ incubator.This is the absent body.The libidinous body of the relationship of a human being that comes with the gestating mother and the gestating mother with him/her is absent. In turn, the mother is a carrier impregnated by the living traces of her desiring relationships with the human context that she belongs to. The libidinous body of this relationship (reciprocal, at least from a specific moment of the fetal life) is made of an indivisible weft of bundles of grouped together “intelligent” living material in an exchange, and bundles of desire. In the gestation lies the beginnings of the transformative relationship between demand, necesssity and currents of desire, between the material and the soul, between the concrete and the psyche. Which gives shape to the co-ordinates within which the gestational space of the maternal psyche of the baby will develop after the birth. And it is precisely desire, which precedes and which is injected into the vicissitudes of that which is alive, that catalyses this transformation and this pyschic gestation.
