Erinnerte Zukunft? Das kulturelle Gedächtnis als Modernisierungsressource gesamtdeutscher Schulentwicklung

Zahlreiche Reformvorschläge zur Neugestaltung von Schule und Bildung erinnern aufgrund formaler Ähnlichkeit an das Bildungssystem der DDR. In der vergangenen schulpolitischen Diskussion diente nahe liegender Weise das Bildungssystem der DDR lediglich als Folie für negative Abgrenzungen; weniger tauglich schien es als Modernisierungsressource. Der Beitrag fragt nach den Voraussetzungen und Bedingungen, unter denen ein solcher Wandel in den Deutungen und Bewertungen möglich und naheliegend ist, und beleuchtet in diesem Zusammenhang die Funktion des kulturellen Gedächtnisses als einer Modernisierungsressource gesamtdeutscher Schulentwicklung. (DIPF/Orig.) Numerous reformation proposals to restructure the school and education system are reminiscent of the educational system in die G.D.R., due to formal similarities. In previous discussions regarding school policy, the sentiment was to differentiate from the G.D.R. educational system, rather than using it as a resource for modernization. The paper questions which requirements and conditions would enable such a transition in the interpretations and evaluations of the G.D.R. educational system.
