Características, preocupaciones y demandas de padres y pacientes con sobrepeso y obesidad infantil

Treball Final de Grau en Medicina. Codi: MD1158. Curs acadèmic: 2019/2020. La obesidad infantil supone un potencial problema de salud pública en la actualidad. Uno de los principales problemas de esta patología es que una vez instaurada, el tratamiento resulta difícil y costoso. A esto, se le suma la falta de homogeneidad en la práctica clínica en los distintos servicios de endocrinología pediátrica. El objetivo de este estudio se centra en ver si el tratamiento del sobrepeso y la obesidad infantil llevado a cabo en el HGUCS se adecua a lo propuesto por las guías; en averiguar qué es lo que más les preocupa a los padres del estado de sus hijos y conocer la opinión de estos respecto a las necesidades y carencias del tratamiento llevado a cabo en las consultas. Currently childhood obesity is an extremely important public health problem. One of the main problems of this disease is that once it is established, treatment is very difficult and laborious, adding to this is the lack of agreement in clinical practice between each of the pediatric endocrinology services. The main objective of this study is focused on observing if the treatment of childhood overweight and obesity carried out in the HGUCS achieves the level of that proposed by the guidelines; the secondary objectives include finding out what concern parents the most about their children's disease; and to identify their opinion regarding the subsequent needs and the deficiencies of the treatment carried out from medical consultations.
