Abstract

Log construction was once the most important method of building in the Ottawa area. Various forms of such construction, including dovetailed, V-notch, "en coulisse" and stovewood, are described and examples given. Two derivations of logwork, in which planks were used, were important in Ottawa-area building; one of them continues to be used.<br />Aussi disponible en français : Construction en Pièces et en Madriers dans la Région d'Ottawa
