The theoretical foundation is based on Ethnomathematics, Decolonial Pedagogy and Liberating Pedagogy. The research methods and techniques used were: semi-structured interviews, participant observation, field diary and document analysis. The study reflects on the existence of an appreciation of knowledge, remnants of the remnants of Marambaia through local crafts, and by the school. The sought to demonstrate that this knowledge can dialogue with each other. The main arguments that value each of these types of knowledge, in their own way, and the non-hierarchization between them, can favor and help the process of formation of the local cultural identity. The possibilities of articulation between the practices of the local culture and the mathematical knowledge are immense, however, it is necessary to be willing to listen to the voices, the stories and the feelings of the group with which one works. The central problem of this research is how Ethnomathematics can contribute to this process, approaching the practice of handicrafts, produced by local residents, and a proposal for a didactic sequence that allows students to also participate in an investigative process. Finally, the main variables of local research are identity, culture, knowledge and crafts. A pesquisa ?Etnomatem?tica e a Educa??o Escolar Quilombola na Ilha da Marambaia em Mangaratiba-RJ: Conex?es entre o Artesanato Local e a Pr?tica Escolar?, se constitui numa uma investiga??o qualitativa e apresenta caracter?sticas etnogr?ficas. A fundamenta??o te?rica ? baseada na Etnomatem?tica, Pedagogia Decolonial e a Pedagogia Libertadora. Os m?todos e t?cnicas de pesquisas utilizados foram: as entrevistas semiestruturadas, a observa??o participante, o di?rio de campo e a an?lise documental. O estudo reflete sobre a rela??o existente entre a valoriza??o dos conhecimentos populares, produzidos pelos remanescentes quilombolas na Ilha da Marambaia por meio do artesanato local, e os conhecimentos acad?micos, ensinados pela escola. A pesquisa buscou demonstrar que esses conhecimentos podem dialogar entre si. Os argumentos principais s?o que a valoriza??o de cada um desses saberes, ? sua maneira, e a n?o hierarquiza??o entre eles, pode favorecer e auxiliar o processo de forma??o da identidade cultural local. As possibilidades de articula??o entre as pr?ticas da cultura local e o conhecimento matem?tico s?o imensas, por?m, ? preciso estar disposto a ouvir as vozes, as hist?rias, as lutas e os sentimentos do grupo com o qual se trabalha. O problema central desta pesquisa se constitui em como a Etnomatem?tica pode contribuir nesse processo, abordando a pr?tica do artesanato, produzido pelos moradores locais, e uma proposta de sequ?ncia did?tica que possibilite aos estudantes a tamb?m participarem de um processo investigativo. Por fim, as principais vari?veis da pesquisa s?o identidade, cultura, conhecimentos locais e o artesanato.
