A expedição de Reinhard Maack em 1933 -1934 no interior do Paraná : contexto sociopolítico e econonômico

Orientador: Prof. Dr. Lúcio Tadeu Mota Coorientador: Prof. Dr. Alessandro Casagrande Dissertação (Mestrado em História) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá, 2020 RESUMO: Este trabalho de pesquisa visa uma reconstrução historiográfica sobre o contexto histórico, político, geográfico, econômico e social que envolveu a expedição científica realizada pelo geógrafo e geólogo alemão e brasileiro Reinhard Maack nos anos de 1933 e 1934 no interior do Estado do Paraná. A pesquisa consiste na investigação histórica do processo que envolveu a expedição de Reinhard Maack nas regiões abrangentes dos rios Ivaí, Paraná e Piquirí no terceiro planalto paranaense. A partir de um estudo das conexões históricas existentes entre o desenvolvimento científico e a competição econômica internacional visando projetos nacionalistas e imperialistas que ocorriam em escala mundial, selecionamos a colonização agrária ocorrida no sul do Brasil, especialmente ligada à imigração alemã que estava sendo direcionada para a efetivação de um moderno e emergente plano de colonização no interior do Paraná. O texto apresenta um estudo das relações existentes entre a referida expedição com a geopolítica alemã, principalmente sobre o envolvimento do cientista Reinhard Maack com o governo da Alemanha, com empresas particulares e com a Sociedade Científica Alemã na década de 1930. Faz parte desta pesquisa, a investigação sobre as relações da colônia alemã no sul do Brasil com os projetos do nacional socialismo alemão na década de 1930 e com as medidas nacionalistas adotadas pelo governo brasileiro de Getúlio Vargas, gerando uma discussão conceitual para a historiografia sobre o tema na primeira metade da década de 1940, durante o período da Segunda Guerra Mundial. ABSTRACT: This research work aims at a historiographical reconstruction about the historical, political, geographic, economic and social context, involving the scientific expedition carried out by the German and Brazilian geographer and geologist Reinhard Maack, in the interior of the state of Paraná between the years 1933 and 1934. The study consists in a historical investigation of the process involving Reinhard Maack's expedition in the broad regions of the Ivaí, Paraná and Piquirí rivers in the third plateau of Paraná. From a study of the historical connections between scientific development and international economic competition aimed at nationalist and imperialist projects that occurred on a world wide scale, we selected the agrarian colonization that occurred in southern Brazil, especially linked to the German immigration that was being directed towards the implementation of a modern and emerging colonization plan in the interior of Paraná. The text presents a study of the relationship between the expedition and German geopolitics, mainly about the involvement of the scientist Reinhard Maack with the government of Germany, with private companies and with the German Scientific Society in the 1930s. the investigation on the relations of the German colony in southern Brazil and the projects of German National Socialism in the 1930s as well as the nationalist measures adopted by the Brazilian government of Getúlio Vargas, generating a conceptual discussion for the historiography on the subject in the first half of the 1940s, during the period of World War II. 151 f. : il., figs., maps.
