Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role in the detection and characterization of meningeal lesions, thus assisting in the clinical diagnosis (ante mortem) of intracranial disease. Meningeal enhancement has been described as a sign of multiple diseases of the central nervous system. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether meningeal enhancement on MRI images of the brain of dogs and to compile the association with diseases of the central nervous system. A retrospective study of dogs submitted to magnetic resonance imaging was conducted and the history of neurological deficit was established as an inclusion criterion for the selection of animals in the study. The data obtained in the exam will be divided according to age and gender, evaluated and computed. The results obtained in the MRI image show that among the diseases observed encephalitis and neoplasia presented 22.7% of clinical suspicions more relevant in relation to the other samples. The site with the greatest finding was parietal/temporal/frontal with 27.3%. The description and evaluation of the frequency of the meninges presented in 90.9% of Pial and Dural and to define the Highlight the result was 59.1% little presented. It was concluded that the present study made it possible to obtain specific information and a greater understanding of the characteristics where it was possible to study the two patterns of meningeous enhancement (pial and dural) and to evaluate that meningeous enhancement through MRI images for different diseases in the brain of dogs there is an association of most values in the varieties of diseases of the nervous system.
