Cambios metalúrgicos de las limas Wave One Gold® posterior a su uso y esterilización

Abstract
- La lima Wave One Gold® tiene un tratamiento térmico que mejora sus propiedades, proporcionando mayor seguridad, sin embargo, el fabricante no recomienda el reusó Objetivo: Determinar los cambios metalúrgicos de las limas primary Wave One Gold® posterior a su uso y esterilización mediante análisis de Calorimetría diferencial de barrido (DSC) y Microscopia electrónica de transmisión (TEM). Método: Con DSC y TEM; se evaluaron 2 limas nuevas (grupo control) y 6 limas usadas de una investigación previa en la cual se instrumentaron 6 conductos con 2 ciclos de esterilización, con curvaturas moderadas a severas. Resultados: La DSC en la lima control calorimetria mostró 2 picos de transformación endotérmica 1 pico exotérmico y una fase intermedia en la curva de enfriamiento (fase R). La figura 1 y 3 mostró dos picos endotérmicos, un pico exotérmico; en la figura 2 mostró un pico endotérmico y dos picos exotérmicos; en las limas usadas no se observó fase R en los grupos experimentales y la liberación de energía (entalpia) se produjo con mayor intensidad en la curva de calentamiento. El análisis de TEM de la lima control TEM mostró bandas emparejadas, en las limas usadas (1 y 3), se observaron zonas escasas con emparejamientos que no se encontraron en la lima 2. Conclusiones: La lima primary Wave One Gold® bajo DSC y TEM presento cambios microestructurales posterior a su uso. The wave one gold file has a thermical treatment which enhaces its properties and provides higher safety, however the manufacturer doesn’t recommends it’s re use. Objective: Establish the metallurgic changes of primary Wave One Gold files after their use and sterilization by means of a diferential scanning calorimetry (DSC) study and transmision electronic microscope (TEM).Method: The evaluation was made in two new files known as the control group and in another six files that were used in a previous study in which all of them were employed to prepare 6 canals with moderate to severe curvatures and were sterilizated twice. Results: The DSC study on the control file showed two endothermic transformation peaks, one exothermic peak and an intermediate phase in the cooling curve (R phase). The A1 and A3 specimens showed two endothermic peaks and one exothermic peak, the A2 group showed and endothermic peak and and two exothermic peaks; in the experimental groups no phase R was found and the energy transfer known as enthalpy was produced with the most intensity in the heating curve. The TEM analysis of the control file displayed matching bands, in the used files (B1 an B3) there were seen a few matching zones that weren’t found on the B2 file. Conclusions: The primary wave one gold file seen under DSC and TEM showed ultraestructural changes after it´s use. Especialista en Endodoncia Especialización
