Measurement of adiabatic expansion coefficient for gases

Abstract

U ovom radu mjeri se adijabatski koeficijent ekspanzije plinova Argona, Helija, Dušika i Ugljikovg dioksida. Adijabatski koeficijent se dobije tako da se izmjeri period titranja klipa koji zatvara cilindar u kojem je plin i uvrsti se u relaciju za adijabatski koeficijent koja je dobivena iz diferencijalne jednadžbe. Dobiveni rezultat za Argon je γAr = 1,61 ± 0,07, za Helij γHe = 1,65 ± 0,02, za Dušik γN2 = 1,3 ± 0,03 i za Ugljikov dioksid γCO2 = 1,29 ± 0,05. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju da Argon i Helij imaju poklapanje u rezultatu što je i očekivano pošto se radi o jedno atomnom plinu, isto tako je za očekivati podudaranje kod Dušika i Ugljikovog dioksida pošto imaju jednak broj pobuđenih stupnjeva slobode, što se i dobilo. In this paper it is shown measurement of adiabatic coefficient for Argon, Helium, Nitrogen and Carbon dioxide. Measurement is done by measuring period of oscillation of piston in cylinder that contains the gas. The adiabatic coefficient is calculated by using the equation that is derived from a differential equation. Measurement for Argon is γAr = 1,61 ± 0,07, for Helium γHe = 1,65 ± 0,02, for Nitrogen γN2 = 1,3 ± 0,03 and for Carbon dioxide γCO2 = 1,29 ± 0,05. The measurements shows that Argon and Helium has overlap in result, which is expected, because they both has molecules with one atom. For Nitrogen and Carbon dioxide is expected to have overlap in measurements, because they have the same number of exited degrees of freedom, which results also shows.
