Determining losses and efficiency of synchronous reluctance motors according to IEC-60034-2-3

Abstract
- Sinkroni reluktantni motori sve više se koriste kao zamjena za asinkrone motore u općim industrijskim namjenama kao što su na primjer pogoni pumpi, kompresora, pokretnih traka, ventilatora itd. Oni moraju biti napajani iz frekvencijskog pretvarača. U tom smislu važno je djelovanje cijelog sustava pretvarač – motor i utjecaj jednog elementa na drugi. U ovom radu ispitan je utjecaj pretvarača na korisnost reluktantnog motora kojeg napaja. Obavljeno je određivanje gubitaka i korisnosti dostupnih reluktantnih motora (ABB, Siemens) sukladno normi IEC 60034–2–3 na različitim kombinacijama pretvarača (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss). Synchronous reluctance motors are increasingly being used as to replace induction motors in general industrial applications such as, for example, pumps, compressors, conveyors, fans, etc. They must be supplied by a power converter. This raises the question of the operation of the entire variable-speed drive system and the influence of one element on another. In this paper, the influence of the power converter on the efficiency of the reluctance motor is studied. The losses and efficiency of two different reluctance motors (ABB, Siemens) were determined according to IEC 60034–2–3 standard with different combinations of converters (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss).
