Sand casting simulation of aluminium alloy diesel engine sump

Abstract
- U ovom radu obrađene su osnove tehnologije lijevanja aluminijevih legura s naglaskom na dijelove uljevnog sustava i njegovu konstrukciju. Objašnjena su svojstva najčešće korištenih aluminijevih legura u ljevarstvu te su obrađeni primjeri najčešćih grešaka koje se javljaju pri lijevanju. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada opisan je proračun uljevnog sustava za lijevanje kartera dizel motora od aluminijeve legure AlSi12 te je napravljen 3D model odljevka i njegovog uljevnog sustava. Koristeći 3D model, provedena je simulacija lijevanja u programu ProCAST sa svrhom otkrivanja potencijalnih grešaka. Nakon dobivenih rezultata simulacije, dan je prijedlog poboljšanja uljevnog sustava kako bi se postojeće greške uklonile ili minimizirale. This thesis covers the basics of aluminium alloy casting technology, with an emphasis on the components of the gating system and its design. The properties of the most commonly used aluminium alloys in casting were explained, and examples of the most frequent defects that occur during casting were addressed. In the experimental section of the thesis, the calculation of the gating system for casting an AlSi12 alloy diesel engine sump was described, and a 3D model of the casting and its gating system was created. Using the 3D model, a casting simulation was performed in the ProCAST software to detect potential defects. Based on the simulation results, suggestions were made to improve the gating system to eliminate or minimize existing defects.
