Abstract

WOS: 000443101800017 Extreme weather events may affect the football players and referees and consequently the match results. They are among the factors causing the football players and referees to make mistakes, have a decrease in performance and get injured. These events occasionally lead the matches to be delayed or postponed to a future date. These negative results caused by extreme weather events lead to considerable financial losses in football clubs. The lost scores may occasionally become the beginning of a process where the teams miss the opportunity of championship or get eliminated from various cup organizations. This study presented the acquired results by investigating the effect of extreme weather events on football. It is not possible to completely remove the negative effect of these atmosphere-originated natural factors on football. However, it is possible to decrease these negations through some precautions.
