Ein Besuch im Krankenhaus ist eine Herausforderung für jedes Kind, vor allem, wenn es das erste Mal ist. Sie werden mit vielen unbekannten Situationen und fremden Personen konfrontiert, was Angst und Unsicherheit auslösen kann, die es zu verhindern gilt. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Informationsbedürfnisse von Kindern im Krankenhaus aufzuzeigen, die richtige Art der Kommunikation darzulegen und Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Spiel zu verdeutlichen. Um die Arbeit zu verfassen wurde hermeneutisch vorgegangen und sich auf Fachliteratur gestützt. Die wichtigste Maßnahme bei der Reduzierung der Angst und Unsicherheit ist die detaillierte, spezifische und an die Bereitschaft der Kinder angepasste Informationsweitergabe bezüglich des Ablaufs der Prozedere, dem sensorischen Empfinden und den Möglichkeiten der Selbstregulation. Weiters ist die Art der Kommunikation von großer Bedeutung, diese sollte mit einfachen Worten und kurzen Sätzen stattfinden. Zur Angstlinderung und Informationsweitergabe können auch Spielinterventionen eingesetzt werden, die weiters auch vom Krankenhausalltag ablenken, die Beziehung zwischen den kleinen Patient*innen, deren Familien und den diplomierten Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegepersonen stärken und den Ausdruck von Gefühlen und die normale Entwicklung fördern. A visit to the hospital is a challenge for every child, especially when it is their first time. They are confronted with many unfamiliar situations and strangers which can trigger fear and insecurity what needs to be prevented. The aim of this paper is to show the information needs of children in the hospital, to demonstrate the right way of communication and to reveal possible uses of play. Therefore the author used an hermeneutic approach and the bachelor’s thesis is based on technical literature. The most important measure in reducing anxiety and insecurity is the detailed, specific and adapted to the children’s readiness to pass on information regarding to the procedure, the sensory perception and the possibilities of self-regulation. Furthermore the type of communication is of great importance, this should take place in simple words and short sentences. Also game interventions can be used to relieve anxiety and pass on information and are moreover able to distract from the everyday hospital life, strengthen the relationship between the young patients, their families and the nursing staff and promote the expression of emotions and normal developement.
