Prometheus : the distributed digital image archive for research and education

The idea of prometheus (http://www.prometheus-bildarchiv.de) was born in 2001 to fulfil an important need for art history, archaeology and other cultural sciences that rely on the image as the main medium of discourse – a digital image archive for research and education.
