Abstract

We present an analysis of privacy vulnerabilities of the data set {age, gender, zip code} exploited by a new generation of biosurveillance systems. The proportions of vulnerable patient records reach up to 89% depending on the attack methodology and availability of information. We also discuss multiple precautionary measures to guard against abuse of this data.
