[Effect of nasal decongestants on locomotor activity of the ciliary apparatus of nasal mucosa in patients with acute purulent rhinosinusitis]

The present work was designed to evaluate the influence of certain nasal decongestants (oxymethazoline hydrochloride and oxymethazoline hydrochloride used in combination with eucalyptol) for the treatment of acute purulent rhinosinusitis. Results of the study give evidence of high therapeutic effectiveness of these preparations. It for the first time provided exact data on locomotor activity of the ciliary apparatus of nasal mucosa in the periods of exacerbation and during reconvalescence after the disease.
