İLKÖĞRETİM ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN OKUL TUVALETLERİNİ KULLANMA DURUMU VE ETKİLEYEN FAKTÖRLER

The aim of this study was to investigate the use of school toilets and the effect factors in primary school students. The population of the study consisted of primary school students who were educated between January and May 2017 in six primary schools in Kadıköy district of İstanbul (N=706). School toilet questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool. Descriptive statistics (number, percentage, mean) and chi-square test were used for data analysis. 51.3% of the students were male and 91.7% were between the ages of 8-11. 56.4% of students use school toilets and 95.4% wash their hands after toilet use. 73.5% of the students stated that school toilets were smelly, dirty and messy, 70.4% stated that there were no paper towels to dry hands, 66.7% stated that there were no toilet paper, and 59.5% said that the toilet doors were not locked. Bu çalışmanın amacıilköğretim öğrencilerinin okul tuvaletlerini kullanma durumu ve etkileyenfaktörleri belirlemektir. Tanımlayıcıbir çalışma olan araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul İli Kadıköy İlçesindebulunan altı ilköğretim okulunda Ocak-Mayıs 2017 tarihleri arasında öğrenim gören, ilköğretim öğrencileri oluşturdu (N=706).Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen okul tuvaletisoru formu kullanıldı. Veri analizindetanımlayıcı istatistikler (sayı, yüzde, ortalama) ve ki kare testi kullanıldı. Öğrencilerin %51.3’ü erkek, %91.7’si 8-11 yaşaralığındadır. Öğrencilerin %56.4’ü okul tuvaletlerini kullanmakta, %95.4’ütuvalet kullanımı sonrası ellerini yıkamaktadır. Öğrencilerin %73.5’i okultuvaletlerinin kötü kokulu, kirli ve dağınık olduğunu, %70.4’ü el kurulamakiçin kağıt havlu olmadığını, %66.7’si tuvalet kağıdı olmadığını, %59.5’ituvalet kapılarının kilitlenmediğini belirtti.
