Abstract
- The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a method for decision makingwhich includes qualitative factors. In this method, ratio scales are ob-tained from ordinal scales which are derived from individual judgmentsfor qualitative factors using the pairwise comparison matrix. The An-alytic Network Process (ANP) also uses a pairwise comparison matrixto obtain ratio scales. The di®erence between these two methods ap-pears in modelling the problem and computing the ¯nal priorities forthe alternatives from ratio scales previously obtained. This paper givesa brief look at the foundation of AHP and ANP. Furthermore, an illus-trative example is given for ANP.
