Le sadisme masculin dans La Sirène des bas-fonds de Noun Faré

This article aims to illustrate the motif of sadism in La Sirène des bas-fonds. To achieve this, we presented the warning signs of sadistic behavior. The analysis of the reason of sadism in our corpus seems to legitimize male domination over women and from this observation, we managed to question the real intentions of the author, who is a woman, to see if she legitimized the male domination over women or else it is a form of denunciation. After the analysis, it is undeniable that the author vigorously denounces this sadistic inclination which is linked to the man. The female character, blinded by sincere feelings of love, lends herself to the game of the sadist and ends up accepting to suffer for the man she loves, hence her acquisition of the masochistic symptom. The absence of parents, especially the father, is a factor that reinforces male domination.
