REVISIÓN DEL GÉNERO CENTROCERAS KÜTZING, 1841 (RHODOPHYTA, CERAMIALES) EN CUBA/ Review of genus Centroceras Kützing, 1841 (Rhodophyta, Ceramiales) in Cuba

En el Atlántico Occidental existe un complejo de tres especies de Centroceras, que probablemente se encuentren en Cuba y hayan sido identificadas erróneamente. El objetivo de este trabajo fue la revisión de los registros identificados como C. clavulatum en colecciones naturales de Cuba, para lo cual se realizó un estudio morfológico de los ejemplares. Los resultados muestran que en Cuba se encuentran: C. hyalacanthum, C. micracanthum y C. gasparrinii, las dos últimas constituyen nuevos reportes. Es posible que estén presentes otras especies como: C. arcii, C. minutum y C. internitens, debido a que han sido consignadas para regiones que presentan similitud con Cuba en la ficoflora. Abstract In the western Atlantic are a complex of three species of Centroceras, likely to be encountered in Cuba and have been misidentified. The goal of this study is the check of records identified as C. clavulatum natural collections in Cuba, for which a morphological study of the specimenes was performed. The results show that in Cuba are: C. hyalacanthum, C. micracanthum and C. gasparrinii, the last two are new reports. It is also possible that other species are present: C.arcii, C. minutum and C. internitens, because they have been consigned to regions with similarity to Cuba in phycoflora.
