Abstract

The article presents results of a survey conducted during the 2012 election, and the same aims to identify the content more accessible to internet users in major brazilian information portals. For the analysis, has been worked with 1142 news that was in “the most read of the day” of five portals: Folha.com, UOL, Terra, The Globe and G1. As pointed out by Shoemaker et al. (2000) observing the most read news, you can also see the profile of the vehicles as they adapt to the most popular content in order to better serve the users. The methodology used in the research is quantitative of analysis content and this article has been worked with two central hypotheses: 1) the portals have different profiles, being that not all are featured by a politic theme as central to the production of news and also not demanded by users. 2) on the portals where the political subject stands out, the presence is given by a specific theme not being perceived the growth over the time. Our hypothesis is that the contents searched by public have distinct patterns among the portals. The initial results show that not all the options for producers of portals coincide whit the readers interests.
