Abstract

Although the area known as International Business (IB) is growing in Brazil and in the world, research in this field has been dominated by functionalist approaches and tends to ignore issues of power. Furthermore, the area has adopted Anglo-American references acritically, which suggests an epistemic colonialism. Thus, the aim of this paper is to suggest a critical approach as a way of conducting research in this area. Thus, we will recount the origins of the field, its resistance to the adoption of critical approaches and/or reflective, and seek denaturalised this area to propose a decolonization as an alternative to the field.
