Abstract

We sought to identify different user profiles considering the uses they make of the Internet and social networks, and establish their relationship with sociodemographic variables, personality and perceived well-being. 628 users participated (52.5% women, Mage= 40.79; SD = 14.99). Four user profiles were identified: the group called low activity, is made up of older subjects and is perceived as more responsible; the high-activity group is made up of younger women and is perceived as more extroverted and neurotic; the recreational one is perceived as more neurotic and with pathological personality traits; and the mixed group, is made up of men and is perceived as more responsible. Only the group with high activity perceives greater personal and social well-being.
