Abstract

The present article analyses the experience of Ecuadorian transit migration to U.S. What implies traversing three countries and crossing three borders in a clandestine way? What is the experience of transit migration? Which are the various strategies followed by Ecuadorian transit migrants along that route? Based on an ethnographic work done on the southern border of Mexico and in Quito, Ecuador we will seek to give some answers to these questions by analyzing the different stages of the transit migration. The study reveals the central role that the networks of coyoteros have, the vulnerability to which migrants are exposed and propose analyze the concept of border in that context.
