Abstract

Highlights • The ES-J was a highly sensitive clinimetric index. • The ES-J distinguished healthy subjects from those with past or current major depression. • The ES-J was highly sensitive to sub-threshold symptoms of depression. • The ES-J was a valid screening measure. • The ES-J can be used to detect a kind of vulnerability and risk of relapse.
