Abstract
- AbstractNowadays, media platforms are a catalyst for sculpturing a society’s mindset. Especially within a societal context characterized by skepticism towards the culture of human rights, the proliferation of misinformation has exerted a detrimental impact on public sentiment, thereby amplifying skepticism towards the culture of human rights. The objective of this study is to examine the misuse of media platforms in the dissemination of misinformation regarding the culture of human rights. The paper offers a legal analysis of our case study regarding the controversy surrounding the Jordanian child rights draft law. The paper analyses the practice of disseminating misinformation via media platforms through three main lenses: discourse, trust, and social practice. It also examines the intersection between these lenses through the example of the Jordanian child rights draft law controversy.
