Abstract

Local wisdom initiates the development of economies in social, economic, and cultural aspects. This study explores the objectives to explore, analyze, and examine the local wisdom centers in response to the Royal Initiative of the Plant Genetic Conservation Project as a result of the seventh year (October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2026) in line with the objectives of the Public Works Department (PWDs). The methodology adopted for this research is the qualitative method. The data collection included primary and secondary data from the local government. The data analysis involved Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) derived strategic characteristics, which experts ranked with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The findings included that the policies must consist of a community participation process to develop local wisdom learning centers to jointly formulate wisdom tourism policies by the local government in Koh Yao District, Phang Nga Province. The novel finding is that the wisdom of herbal medicine for treating people exposed to hot water with blisters and their lifestyle reflects the way of life of fishermen, gardeners, crafts batik painting, and wood carving individuals.
