Abstract

The international migration is a core issue in the functioning of the Moroccan society and it becomes more and more the result of the departure of Moroccans abroad for the studies. Almost 14 % of Moroccan students are studying abroad. This paper is looking into the administrative data on the international student migration. Do these data allow studying the mobility of Moroccan students ? Firstly, we count the various sources of existing data, check out their availability, and explore their limits. Secondly, we show that it is possible and a good sense to analyze these data. While this study is linked with the contexts of the country of origin and the host country, it allows describing and having a good grasp of the student mobility. The database SISE created recently by the French ministry of education entitles researches to study the student trajectories. These data allow observing the capacity of adaptation of Moroccan students to the different changes of policies in the host countries on the one hand. On the second hand, this study explores the ability of the Moroccans to adapt to changes in the Morocco and the host countries labour market and their family patterns
