Abstract: Modern imaging techniques can detect cancer cells in the lymph nodes of cancer patients. In this study, the authors show that tumour related leukocytosis, a phenomenon where leukocytes are increased in number, can lead to the false positive detection of cancer cells in lymph nodes.
