Novel layered ruthenium diphosphonate containing a mixed valent diruthenium paddlewheel core

Research has been conducted on mixed valence ruthenium(II,III) compound. The authors describe the synthesis and crystal structure of the compound, and report that the compound has the two-dimensional structure with the paddlewheel diruthenium(II,III) units which are cross-linked via phosphonate groups.
