Abstract

Researchers found a wide variation in the size, shape, and position of various muscles and tendons that support the pelvic organs in a study of 20 women. They used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which is good at imaging soft tissues rather than bone. It is important to know the natural anatomical variations that occur in order to diagnose injuries more accurately.
