Abstract

Research has been conducted on Candida albicans ALS7 open reading frame alleles. The authors have investigated the differences between these alleles, and they report that the differences are caused by the repeat element rearrangement in the tandem repeat domain, and that ALS7 is a hypermutable contingency locus and an opportunistic human pathogen.
