Abstract: The report on 'ligandless' palladium complexes, which catalyze the first zirconium Negishi reactions, is discussed. The first ligandless palladium based method for cross coupling alkyl electrophiles, that is, Pd(acac)2- catalyzed reactions of functionalized alkyl halides with organozirconium reagents is described.
